Railroad engineer of a train restaurant, only very few can claim that job. Quite particular when this train restaurant is also pulled by a 65 year old historic locomotive. Mayor baptizes 65-year-old restaurant locomotive “City of Amsterdam”

AMSTERDAM – “We have been trying to arrange a round of Randstad and you organized it. A great initiative, congratulations!”

With those words revealed mayor Eberhard van der Laan with chef Julius Jaspers the Amsterdam coat of arms on the 65-year-old locomotive City of Amsterdam. The locomotive is thereby officially recruited under its new name. Read more (original source).

AMSTERDAM – Creating a tasteful, unique experience for guests. That is the aim of Julius Jaspers, the Chef for the Amsterdam Dinner Train. The restaurant is housed in a train consisting of a 65-year-old locomotive and modernized cars from the ’60s. The train restaurant keeps track history alive on the track through innovation.

The Amsterdam Dinner Train has a new Chef: Julius Jaspers. Author of cookbooks and former presenter at RTL 5. The culinary driver now puts his signature on the menu and service on the train. Julius is the owner of the ‘Julius Bar & Grill’ and both ‘HappyHappyJoyJoy’ restaurants. Read more (original source).
